Meaning of Educational Technology
Educational technology is a systematic way of designing, implementing and evaluating the total learning and teaching in terms of specific objectives based on research in human learning and communication; and employing a combination of human and non-human resources to bring about more effective instruction .
Simply stated, educational technology is the application of the results of researchers and studies, material or non-material to improve Teaching and learning. Materials results of researchers include both the traditional aids, which will be the focus of this course. Non- materials results includes the theories and principles of teaching Including methodologies strategies And techniques of teaching.
Educational technology must be viewed in relation to teaching as a whole into the learning process. teachers must be understand this relationship in order to be able to make intelligent or fruitful use of technological aids.
Media is very much a part and parcel of educational technology. - Audio-visual materials refer to the instructional aids that appeal to the auditory and sight senses which could be personally prepared by the teacher for a specific learning task and group of learners. They can be used either being alone or in combination. But still they belong to that one big term educational technology
